Q: What is the BIGGEST word you've seen used in a book lately - that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.
Good question. I don't think it ever happened. You know when I read an English book, if I have a really big word or if I don't understand it, well, I just pass. But it's not something I can easily remember about.

Having an ereader makes it so easy to look up a word while reading that it's hard to remember which words I've looked up. But there was one recently that stands out to me. The word I had to look up was from David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas. Check it out here
RépondreSupprimerThanks for stopping by my FF post earlier Melliane :)
RépondreSupprimerHave a wonderful weekend.
Hopping through. I usually let words I don't know pass as well. I can normally figure out the context.

I agree with you. Usually the context helps define the word. :)
RépondreSupprimerHappy Friday!!
I am about the same... I really haven't had to look up a words meaning for myself. But I did look up one for my friend, just to be 100% sure I was giving her the correct meaning... LOL
RépondreSupprimerThanks for stopping by my blog earlier, old follower <3
I know what you mean, I do the same sometimes. Thanks for stopping by, old follower :)
RépondreSupprimerYes, sometimes that is easiest.
RépondreSupprimerYup, that's my answer too :) Thanks for stopping by!
RépondreSupprimerContext works sometimes, I read a multitude of self-published books and I find much of the time I end up using my kindle to check the spelling of words.
